Technician Learning Path

From your first day to John Deere Certified

We don't just hire technicians. We grow them, on a paid, John Deere-backed path that takes you from the shop floor to Certified Technician in about two years.

The whole path at a glance

Where this job takes you, and how fast

John Deere built the Certified Technician roadmap in three levels, in a deliberate order: foundations first, then how the systems work, then real diagnostics. You are never thrown at a machine you haven't been trained for.

Systems Overviews

This is where you stop being a generalist and start becoming a systems expert. You go deep on what makes modern John Deere equipment run, one system at a time, so the machine in front of you starts to make sense.

  • Hydraulics & hydrostatics
  • Electrical & electronics
  • Machine networks
  • Heating & A/C
  • Advanced drivetrain
  • Fuel, cooling & lubrication
  • Air, exhaust & aftertreatment
3 Level three · Months 6–24

  • Hydraulic diagnostics
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Heating & A/C diagnostics
